Our Story

True Empowering, LLC was born out of a passion for creating lasting change within organizations—change that goes beyond meeting quotas or hitting benchmarks. Our journey began in the world of education, leadership, and the study of Workplace ecosystems. Over the years, our founder, Dr. Tyrone Bates, Jr., observed a recurring challenge: many leaders were certified to lead their organizations but lacked the qualifications necessary to cultivate environments where every individual felt valued, supported, and inspired to stay and grow.

Dr. Bates’ career path taught him one critical truth early on—leadership is about more than just holding a title; it's about creating environments where people are motivated to bring their best selves to work every day. He realized that for an organization to truly thrive, it must do more than just recruit talent; it must build a culture where individuals are not only eager to contribute but also compelled to see their careers through to retirement within that organization. This vision of authentic, sustainable culture-building was shared by many of his peers and collaborators, sparking a collective desire to make a meaningful impact beyond their individual efforts.
 

Recognizing a growing need among leaders who wanted to move from simply managing people to genuinely empowering them, Dr. Bates established True Empowering, LLC. Our mission is to guide organizations in creating spaces where every team member, regardless of background, feels fully engaged, valued, and motivated to achieve their highest potential. We exist to support those leaders who are ready to go beyond traditional approaches and develop cultures that inspire long-term commitment and a shared sense of purpose.

Today, True Empowering, LLC is more than just a consulting firm; it is a partner in progress for those organizations and leaders seeking to create and sustain workplaces where everyone feels supported and valued. We believe that leaders are the lynchpins to helping people feel empowered to be present and available to do their very best work, they not only drive the organization forward but also build a legacy that future generations will be proud to continue.
